Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of the TradeHire platform, operated by TradeHire ("TradeHire," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

1. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to use TradeHire.
  • Technician accounts may only be created by individuals who hold or are pursuing a valid trade license in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Employer accounts may only be created by businesses or individuals with a legitimate hiring need for licensed tradespeople.
  • You represent that all information you provide during registration is accurate and current.

2. Accounts

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

3. License Verification

  • TradeHire queries state licensing databases to validate the credentials technicians provide. We do not guarantee the real-time accuracy of state records.
  • Providing false license information is grounds for immediate account termination and may constitute fraud.
  • Employers are encouraged to independently verify credentials before making hiring decisions. TradeHire verification is a strong signal, not a legal guarantee.
  • License status can change. We recommend employers verify license status directly with state agencies for final hiring decisions.

4. Acceptable Use

  • You may not use TradeHire to post fraudulent job listings or to harvest contact information.
  • You may not attempt to circumvent the masked communications system to obtain a user's real contact information without their consent.
  • You may not use the platform for any purpose other than legitimate trade hiring.
  • Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior toward other users is prohibited and will result in account termination.
  • You may not use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or mass-download data from the platform.

5. Communications

  • All communications between technicians and employers are routed through TradeHire's masked communication system.
  • Attempts to exchange personal contact information outside the platform before both parties have mutually consented to connect may result in account restriction.
  • By using the platform, you consent to receive SMS and email notifications related to platform activity, scheduling, and account status.

6. Privacy

  • Your use of the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.
  • We are committed to protecting technician identity. However, we cannot guarantee that information shared consensually will remain private after you choose to reveal your identity to an employer.

7. Intellectual Property

  • The TradeHire platform, including its design, code, and content, is the intellectual property of TradeHire.
  • You retain ownership of the content you submit to your profile.
  • By submitting content to TradeHire, you grant us a limited license to display that content to other authorized users of the platform.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

  • The platform is provided on an as-is basis. We make no warranties regarding the accuracy of license verification data, the quality of matches, or outcomes of connections made through the platform.
  • TradeHire is not a party to any employment relationship formed through the platform.
  • To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding any claim.

9. Changes to These Terms

  • We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify active users of material changes via email.
  • Continued use of the platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

  • These terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or your use of the platform are governed by the laws of the State of Maine, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
  • Informal resolution first: before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at support@tradehire.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
  • Binding arbitration: any dispute not resolved informally will be settled by final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, seated in Portland, Maine, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court.
  • Class-action waiver: disputes will be arbitrated only on an individual basis; you and TradeHire waive any right to participate in a class, collective, or representative action.
  • Opt-out: you may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@tradehire.com within 30 days of first accepting these terms, in which case disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Cumberland County, Maine.
